Word Vector — Privacy Policy

Watertate Gaming Private Limited

Word Vector ("the game") is made by Watertate Gaming ("we", "us"). This policy explains:

  • what information the game collects;
  • why it collects it;
  • who it is shared with;
  • the choices you have.

It applies to the game on Android and iOS. Some features described below, such as leaderboards and ads, are being switched on or added. Where a feature is not in the game yet, this policy describes what it will do when it is.

The short version

  • You do not need an account. The game is fully playable without signing in.
  • Your progress, scores and settings are kept on your device.
  • If you sign in with Google (optional), we use your Google account to create an account for you in our app services.
  • We use Google Firebase to see how the game is used and to find crashes.
  • Leaderboards and purchases are handled by Google Play, Apple Game Center and the app stores.
  • Ads are planned. When they arrive, ad partners may collect your advertising ID. On iOS this happens only if you allow tracking.

Information stored only on your device

This information is not sent to us or anyone else. Uninstalling the game deletes it:

  • your level progress in each mode and your best scores;
  • your gem balance, power-up counts and stickers;
  • your settings (such as sound on or off), and whether you have seen the tutorial;
  • your chosen avatar and frame;
  • your daily score total on this device;
  • a list of purchase transaction IDs, so a purchase is never granted twice;
  • whether you tapped "I'm interested" in upcoming background themes.

Information we collect

1. Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to record how the game is used. Events include a game starting or finishing (with the mode and score), completing the tutorial, opening a leaderboard and signing in. The service also collects technical information automatically, such as:

  • an app instance ID;
  • device model, operating system version and app version;
  • language;
  • country or approximate location, derived from your IP address;
  • session and engagement data.

2. Crash reports

We use Firebase Crashlytics to record crashes. A crash report includes the stack trace, the state of your device and the operating system at the time of the crash, and a Crashlytics installation ID. If you are signed in, it also includes your Firebase user ID.

3. Sign in with Google (optional)

From the game's settings menu you can sign in with Google. If you do, we receive your Google account name, email address and Google account ID through Firebase Authentication. We use them to create a Firebase account (with a user ID), so your progress can be tied to you. You can sign out from the same menu.

4. Leaderboards

Leaderboards use Google Play Games Services on Android and Apple Game Center on iOS. These services share your gamer name or alias, your player ID and your daily scores with other players on that platform, along with the IDs of the avatar and frame you chose in the game. They are governed by Google's and Apple's own terms, and you control your visibility in those services.

5. Purchases

The game offers gem packs and a one-time "No Ads" purchase through Google Play Billing and the Apple App Store. Google and Apple handle your payment details entirely. The game receives only the product you bought and a transaction ID.

6. Ads (planned)

We plan to show rewarded video ads, which you can choose to watch for gems, and possibly interstitial or banner ads. These would be served through Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) mediation, possibly including Meta Audience Network and other ad networks. Ad providers typically collect:

  • your device's advertising identifier: the Android Advertising ID, or on iOS the IDFA, only if you give permission when the App Tracking Transparency prompt appears;
  • device and network information;
  • your IP address;
  • how you interact with ads.

The "No Ads" purchase removes ads other than rewarded ones.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • run the game and keep your progress and purchases working;
  • understand how the game is played and fix crashes and problems;
  • tie your progress to your account if you sign in;
  • run leaderboards;
  • show ads, once they are added.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run parts of the game:
